Audiovisual storytelling training program, OWSD/UNESCO

OWSD VISIONS is a training program in audiovisual science storytelling for filmmakers from countries in the global south. The ultimate goal is to create a video portrait of a female scientist from their country. During the tutoring process, participants learn how to create a script and envision its visualization, refine their filming and interviewing techniques, and edit the story.
So far, filmmakers in 30 countries have been trained, and their videos, which are useful tools for promoting science for the protagonists and their communities, have been featured at multiple international events, including the World Science Forum in Cape Town.
